The time has come where I must quit my job, that I completely and totally loved, to start a new job as a stay at home mom. Now that last statement might seem bitter, but it's not meant that way. I'm choosing to do the best thing I can for my child and my family. It's not for everyone. I hope it is for me.
I'm a librarian by trade, so you can see why reading and literacy are something I find to be very important. My 11 month old daughter already has a vast library of books, as do I. My husband is not a reader. I've introduced him to some books that he has enjoyed and he's coming around, but he doesn't use the word "reader" to identify himself. I, however, am a reader.
I hope this blog will serve as a record for what my daughter is reading and what I am reading. Yes, I know about goodreads.com and I have an account, but this is different. I'll post what we check out from the library and write reviews of what we have read. I'll also post books that we own. This will enable me to keep an accurate record of what not to buy. You have no idea how many copies of "Goodnight Moon" I have purchased on accident.
